I left the plumber in the house with my brother in law. The plumber had no idea what he was doing and stayed all day. My brother is not from England and didn't know to send him away. The firm charged me over £800, based on an hourly rate (which I paid) and totally failed to fix my boiler. They left it broken and the panel hanging off. I got another (Corgi-registered) plumber in who then fixed it for £50.
