I'll try not to go on about this place but I really had a very good experience here. We eat out a lot and so were bored of everywhere else. I must have driven past a thousand times and then one Friday I was searching the net for something different in our area. I found the Old House. It looks like a country cottage from the outside which put us off a bit. We prefer modern and stylish rather than country pub feel, but the menus looked really good and I was particularly drawn to the wine list. The photos on the website made it look clean and fresh inside so we booked. Well inside is stunning. You sit in the lounge and have drinks and canapes before going through to the restaurant which is spacious and has a nice atmosphere. The service really was very good although the waiter was a bit too chatty! The food was great and far beyhond the 2 rosettes they have and the wine was lovely. We had a half bottle of Rioja and a Bottle of Cloudy Bay. I expected London prices for the standard but the bill only came to just over £100. Loads of choice of Menu and Wines, you can book anytime (none of this two sittings rubbish) and service is at your descretion unlike some places that slap it on anyway. Although there were no quarms aboutme leaving a tip. Good honest Restaurant doing good honest business. Should keep it to myself rather than tell everyone. I can see it turning into one of those places where you have to book months in advance! If you want me to give you something they should improve on... I thought the coffee wasn't fresh. In this day and age we're used to fresh coffee. Still check out the website and decide for yourselves. <P>
