I completly disagree with workshy1 I have been renting through James Dean for over 2 years in the Reigate area. When completing the viewings i was dealt with in a profestional manner. References where completed in a timely manner, contracts signed, keys handed over and a profestional inventory completed the day I moved in. The staff members i have dealt with over the years have been nothing but friendly and helpfull with any repairs or queries I have. They are always dealt with as quickly as possible and I am always called and updated on progress. I agree people are intiled to there own opinion, and this is why I think it only fair to show this company in a fair light. Just as you can go onto trip advisor and see one person likes a hotel or the staff and then on the other end of the scale you have someone who detested everything about it and would never go there again. People are very different and I wanted to share the experience I have had with James Dean. I am very happy with them as agents and I would certainly recommend them to friends and family wishing to rent or buy.
I am amazed at the review above! Can only assume this is disgruntled tenants/buyers shooting the messenger! Dear James Dean I would like to pass on our thanks to you and your team. When you visited our family home and confidently said that you could sell our house for just under a million pounds in this current climate, in three months from the open day to exchange, I have to say we were both rather skeptical. In fact from the open day on the Saturday and the offer of almost full asking price the following Wednesday and then completing six weeks later was amazing! I would highly recommend James Dean to anyone putting their property to the market or if their house has been on the market for sometime and are considering changing agent.

I went to view one of their properties in Earlswood, the agent was an hour late. On viewing i found there to be a slight damp problem but was told not to worry as it was going to be fixed by the end of the month. This however never happened in the three months we ended staying there we had a continued battle with them; they would keep claiming it was condensation. I may add that some parts did have condensation but due to the damp and the fact that the place had no basic ventilation. They had lied to us, the problem had also spread and they were not doing anything about it, in fact by the time we moved out they admitted that they were not going to do anything at all, they had no intention. They had cheated us. Be aware of the fact that they do not take their clients seriously and their priority is just the landlord not the tenant; make sure you account for everything they say and read the contract carefully, even insist on putting whatever damage to the property in the contract so they have the obligation to do what they say. They have their own way of doing the checkout charging £65; the landlord does the check in by himself so check the contents carefully. I do not recommend this company, if you have an alternative take it as this was the worst experience for moving into our first home and i would not want anyone else to go through it.
