• AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

  On 17th May 2008, I visited the Crawley branch of this company (trading online as Audio 66) to have an Alpine head unit and 4 x speakers fitted into my mint Subaru Impreza, which is my pride and joy. The installation cost me £344.95 and I had travelled from Hemel Hempstead to get there (a 130 mile round trip). A few days later, the speakers started crackling and I noticed that there was a rattling sound coming from the door panels. I then discovered that the rear speakers had been 'stuck' down with black silicone rather than screws and they were now moving around the rear shelf causing the wires to come loose (hence the crackling). I called the branch several times and was told someone would call me back. They never did and so, to avoid the speakers getting damaged, I immediately took my car to a local car audio shop, who charged me £139.19(!) to put it right (3 hours work). The guys in the shop were APPALLED at the standard of the installation and even took photos to show me how bad it was. The door speakers were also not secured properly and all the wires were loose (hence the rattling). After several more calls over several months, I eventually managed to speak with the owner, Mark, who point blank refused to refund the money I had paid out OR admit that his company was at fault OR even apologise! He told me that I should have come back to the branch to have it fixed, regardless of the fact that I did not want Road Radio to touch my car again or that I lived 65 miles away or that they should have done a proper job to start with! Needless to say, I am now taking them to the Small Claims Court! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!
