TAKE A WALK DOWN MEMORY LANE

 

Staff, family and residents of Acorn Court Care Home will take part in a four-mile Memory Walk on Sunday (28 September 2008) as part of the Alzheimer’s Society’s national flagship fundraising drive.   The team of walkers will set off at 11:30am on a circular walk through beautiful countryside that starts and finishes at Godstone Green by the pond.

Acorn Court Nursing Home Fundraising Walk for Alzeihmers Society

Staff, family and residents of Acorn Court Care Home in Redhill stepped out on a four-mile walk as part of a national fundraising drive.

The team of walkers, including Acorn Court activities coordinator Sheryn Naden and resident's relative Margaret Lane, took part in the event, dubbed the Memory Walk, as part of the Alzheimer's Society's national drive for funds.

They walked through countryside around Godstone Green.

Acorn Court general manager Bill Howell said the walk was an autumnal highlight for the staff and family of residents.

He said: "It's an opportunity for those whose lives have been touched by dementia to help build awareness of the disease and to raise much needed research funds.

"Walking together is a great way in which to share memories and remember those who have played an important part in our lives."
